The iPad login

So there's a lot to take in in this first room! Hard to work out which puzzle to crack first! Best to start with the iPad. For this one, you need to have a look at connect 4, there's a lot of numbers on the tokens....

Now which numbers do you need? Well, take a closer look at the drinks cabinet... seems like the only other thing with a 4x4 grid shape... this will help you pick the tokens. The numbers order goes from top to bottom

Unlock the photo's on the iPad

So to crack this one, you're going to need the CD's from the entertainment unit and the note from the iPad notes app.

To get to the CD's, you need the key to the Entertainment Unit drawer from inside the chair. You then need to check that note, any of the phrases in it look familiar? They're actually the track titles from the CD's so you need the track numbers of each track that gets mentioned, in the order that they get mentioned on the note.

The Living Room Door lock

Despite the amount of stuff you've found in this room, you can actually make your way out pretty early on! It's a directional lock so you need to find a clue that gives you some directions. This can be found on the photo's app on the iPad so you need to solve the two clues above first.

Check the photo's and they'll give you a direction. The woman in the picture is squatting on the floor in two of them, up on someone shoulders in another and facing left in the final one. This gives you the directions, they go in the order of the photo's 1-4.

The Spare Room Door lock

For this one, you need the birthday cards from the living room and the playing cards in the entertainment unit drawer. If you look at the names that all four birthday cards are signed from, those first names are repeated on the playing cards.

The numbers of the cards that those names are mentioned on make up your 4-digit code, they go in the order of their appearance on the video of the playing cards.

The Spare Room - The Desk Drawer

To get in here, you need the movie reviews that are sat on the desk paired with the DVD's in the entertainment unit drawer. 5 of the films mentioned in the reviews are DVD's in the drawer. It's the missing one that doesn't have a corresponding DVD that gives you the code you need... check the date on the review.

The Kitchen Door - lock

The code to this one is pretty on the nose. To start with, you'll need to use the stick on the loft hatch in the hallway to get a key for the coffee table drawer. Inside, you'll find a welcome note and a reversed letter.

There's something in the room which will help you read the letter... take it over to the mirror and give the note a read. It's the first letter of each line that you need to pay attention to.... told you it's on the nose!

The Kitchen - drawer lock

For this one, you need to open up the tea tin. There's a bunch of scrabble tiles in there instead of tea bags and a note that says "Sorry, no t!" - the spelling of tea as "t" is a clue here. annoyingly, the values of each tile have been covered up but that mug serves as a good guide. Add up all your scrabble tiles but don't add any of the letter t's into your equation! That should give you the two digits that you need.

The Kitchen - fridge lock

For this, you need the calendar on the wall and the to-do list from the Spare Room drawer to find out today's date. Take a look at the activities listed on the calendar. Some of these activities have been ticked off the list, some have not.... this means that to find today's date is going to be in between an activity that's been ticked off and one that hasn't.

From the welcome note, you know that check-in is always on a Saturday and you've been here for 14 days so today must also be a Saturday. The date format is standard UK date format and as it's a 4-digit lock, there's no need for the year. Format is DD/MM.

The Bedroom Drawer - lock

To get in here, you need a five letter combination. Check out the post-it notes on the inside of the cupboard door (you need to unlock the cupboard first). There are 12 of them and the first has a J on it and a direction of travel. The final has a D on it indicating that these post-its symbolise the 12 months.

If you follow the direction of travel, you'll find the month you need as the odd coloured post-it note. This month is the 5 digit letter code for the drawer.

The Drinks Cabinet - drawer lock

So despite finding this pretty early on, it's actually one of the last ones to solve. You're going to need a little bit of geography knowledge for this one and you'll need the globe, the pictures on the wall and the coloured grid from the bedroom drawer.

First things first, check the back of the pictures on the wall, each has a note on the back with a location and a 4-digit date. Find those locations on the globe to work out which colour corresponds with each 4-digit date.

Once you have this information, you basically fill out the coloured grid with the four digit codes, putting each code in the spot where its colour is on the grid. The white underlined numbers give you a new code which will open the drawer. The order of the code is top to bottom on the grid.

The Door To The Stairs

To get into this door and take a big step towards freedom, you're going to need the map in the spare room, the duvet cover and the tube themed card game from the entertainment unit drawer.

Take a look at the duvet cover - it has a post-it note sitting over a particular station. If you look for that station on the tube cards, you'll find the name 'Mark Keston'.

Now take a look for that name on the map - the map contains an area called the 'Keston Mark' - that's what you're looking for. The grid reference to this one is the code to the door to the stairs - remember, along the corridor and up the stairs to work out grid references!
